Specialising in the recruitment of African professionals, the Talent2Africa platform has been searching for a base in Europe. The Pays de la Loire innovation territories regional agency convinced the organisation to come to Nantes.
Talent2Africa was created in June 2016 by Chams Diagne from Senegal. Former African director of Viadeo, he launched this alternative professional social networks service in order to target the African labour market and its specificities.
The platform links African candidates, particularly from the diaspora, and large international groups struggling to recruit qualified professionals for positions in Africa. In order to guarantee the quality of the recruitment and to increase the visibility of the notices, the site also proposes to its members to co-opt a candidate and even to receive a commission if the latter is chosen for the position.
Nantes as a launch pad
In just one year, Talent2Africa has attracted large groups such as Amazon, Siemens, Accor, Deloitte and Dell. Accompanied by the West and Central Africa hub of Business France, the start-up was looking for a French city to set up its European office and was hesitating between Paris and Nantes.
Thanks to the involvement of the Regional Agency and its partner, Nantes Saint-Nazaire Development, the capital of the Pays de la Loire was chosen for its many assets and advantages. Located just two hours from Paris, with a high-standard living environment and reasonable prices, Nantes is also an important pool of young talent from many different schools.
The establishment of Talent2Africa in Pays de la Loire aims to create 15 jobs over the next three years, but above all to strengthen the privileged links that have been forged with the African economy.
