L’Agence Regionale Pays de la Loire – Territoires d’Innovation is involved in the Atlantic Power Cluster (APC) project together with 17 partners from 15 regions on the European Atlantic coastline from Portugal, Spain, France, Ireland and the UK.
Atlantic regions have a huge potential in renewable energy which can be useful for the EU to meet the goals of its energy strategy, while contributing to the prosperity of their industries and populations, and meeting the objectives of economic, social and territorial cohesion. The Atlantic Power Cluster project builds on the Marine Energy Working Group set up in the CPMR (Atlantic Arc Commission) and is intended to implement a transnational marine energy strategy so the partner regions can seek complementarities to tackle the crucial challenges for the development of marine energies in the Atlantic Area.
The objectives of the project are:
- – to build a transnational marine energy strategy in the Atlantic Area
- – to create an adequate political and social environment for the marine energy sector
- – to enhance the competitiveness and innovation capacities of the industrial community in the Atlantic regions
On May 20 to 22, a Pays de la Loire delegation will attend an APC seminar and the All Energy conference in Aberdeen, Scotland.
Delegates will have the opportunity to hear about current APC activities, ambition and opportunities from across the Atlantic Arc regions as well as stakeholders mapping.
They will also have the opportunity to meet with APC MRE stakeholders and potentially develop cooperation activities.
