The Internet of Things is a future technology offering numerous opportunities. To help businesses adapt, Qowisio provides a complete and unique solution based on its own network. David Halopé, marketing director of the company based in Angers, explains.
What is Qowisio’s expertise?
We are specialists in the Internet of Things and are quite unique because we began on the market in 2009. We started by marketing electrical installations remote monitoring services for telecommunications operators. 2014 was a pivotal year, because it was when we decided to deploy our own low power wide area network to become a next generation IoT operator. Following a €10 million fundraising last year, we now cover all French cities with over 10,000 residents. We offer our BtoB clients turnkey IoT solutions (the object, connectivity via our network and the applications).
What is the advantage of this offer for your customers?
To launch an IoT project to optimise processes or expand a product range can be difficult, because the value chain is complex and fragmented. By offering a network, connected objects and application solutions, we enable companies to easily develop their projects, with significant cost savings and a reduced time to market.
Are you targeting priority sectors or countries?
We are targeting a very large market, because we are the only ones to offer this turnkey solution and we are able to adapt to many sectors. We have however identified areas where our solutions are particularly relevant: telecommunications, communities, logistics and the supply chain. We are currently working in France, Africa and the United States, (Austin, Texas), where we have just opened a subsidiary; taking part in the CES will allow us to meet both potential partners and customers there. We are also working on medium-term development in Germany and England, to be followed by China.
Established in 2009 in the French Tech labelled Angers and focused on IoT, Qowisio now has forty employees. The company expects to achieve a turnover of € 11m in 2016.
